About Melissa

Hi, my name is Melissa but you can call me Mel. I am from Wales and I am a mum to 3 crazy children and have 2 dogs and 4 chickens.

I am a primary school teacher with a passion for books and literacy. I love reading and hope to inspire children everywhere to love it as much as I do.

I am a very caring person and I will do my best to get you to where you need to be and help you to develop your knowledge.

I understand how tough learning can be especially trying to learn English. It is one of the hardest languages to master but with a bit of perseverance and a little extra help from me you'll be an expert in no time!

About the lesson

I believe in taking a practical and fun approach to learning. Each session with me will not only provide you with concrete learning experiences to enhance your knowledge but will additionally provide you with a fun space to grow and learn. I will tailor every session to suit the needs of my students regardless of what those may be. My personal goal with every student is to develop a love of learning.

I am experienced in working with a range of abilities and have vast experience in working with children with behaviour that challenges and also a range of additional learning needs .

I have also got experience with working with children who speak English as a second, third and even fourth language and will use a range of strategies and resources to enhance their learning.

My experience of working with so many different children has given me a wealth of resources and strategies to support every learner.

I am a very flexible teacher and can teach according to the national curriculum or any curriculum that you wish to use.

I teach English as an additional language as well as English as a first language (for those wanting to improve their abilities or prepare for tests etc.)

Although my speciality is with younger children I am also able to teach all ages of people wishing to learn the language as an additional language. Again a curriculum will be tailored to your needs.
