About Bethany
Hi there, my name is Bethany.
As a newly qualified primary school teacher, I have had over four years of experience on school placements across Glasgow providing one-on-one support to individuals as well as groups of children in their English language learning. I very much enjoy the process of making sure that my pupils can not only verbalise what they read, write and say correctly, but that they can understand the words and can take meaning from them.
I am a Masters student in education, and for several years I have been supporting my fellow students with their academic writing, offering my advice and editing/proofreading services, including to those whose first language is not English.

I firmly believe that you, the student, should be just as involved in the learning process as the tutor. You deserve to be consulted in how and what you learn, and your unique needs, strengths and personal goals should be incorporated into any lesson plans I prepare with you.
Giving the tutee personal ownership over their learning has been successful for my students in fostering within them an enthusiasm for English language that drives them to improve their knowledge and understanding of the subject.
I believe that repetition of lesson content in different contexts is necessary for achieving success in English language, so I always provide these additional opportunities and resources to my students to allow them to practise key concepts further in their spare time.
