About Josh

Hello! my name is Joshua Ace (I like to go by Josh) I am 20 years old and go to the University of Auckland.

I am here because I love getting to be part of your learning. It is truly a great moment when students overcome something they have been struggling with, and realise they are capable of anything they put their minds to.

I love mathematics, solving equations is a super fun experience for me and I want to share that excitement with you too!

About the lesson

I much prefer to engage students in mathematics and to show them that math can be fun. I do this by having fun challenges with my students where I challenge them to beat me or take the focus away from math altogether. This may sound counterintuitive, however, I work around my student's needs. This approach has consistently helped me raise student's grades in tests from failing to excelling.

If they require tutoring because they cannot focus in school, then my focus is to make math fun and engaging again while still teaching.

However, if students require extra help not offered by schools such as for scholarship papers I offer this level of help as well.

My typical age range is from 8 - 18, and I have plenty of experience in working with kids (and what motivates them to succeed).

lessons will typically run for an hour, however, this is subject to change. For example, if your child lacks focus it may be more beneficial to shorten the tutoring time and allow me extra planning time.

I previously achieved NCEA level 3 calculus with excellence and am 1 semester from having a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting. I cannot think of anyone more qualified to help you and your family!

Josh was my tutor fir NCEA level 3 calculus and my little brothers tutor for algebra in late primary school.

He was always great at explaining everything and making all of my questions feel like good ones even if I didn't think they were. The lessons were always fun and engaging but they really helped me pass and get good grades.
