About Bea
I have been teaching for many years at a school in Pretoria, where I continue to teach. Teaching is my passion, as it allows me to share my love of music while helping students develop their musical skills. I am also studying music therapy and enjoy working with neurovariant students and those with different learning needs, including individuals with ADHD and autistic students. I have been playing the piano since the age of six and hold a UNISA Grade 6 in Theory and Grade 8 in Piano. My musical journey has included singing in the school choir, participating in musicals, and playing in the local church band. After matric, I studied jazz piano at TUT and played piano in the TUT Big Band. In 2021, I graduated cum laude with a BMus Honors from the University of Pretoria. I currently also perform at community events, weddings, and other functions.

I believe piano lessons should be tailored to each student’s musical preferences and learning needs. My lessons cover fundamental skills such as repertoire, technical exercises, note reading, and theory. Additionally, I offer instruction in composition, music history, and harmony (classical and jazz).
Fluent in both English and Afrikaans, I welcome students of all ages and levels. Performance is an essential part of learning an instrument, and I encourage students to participate in studio concerts. While students have the option to take ABRSM, Trinity, or Rock School exams, participation is not mandatory.
My studio embraces a diverse range of students, fostering a supportive and personalised learning environment.
