About Vithoo
As a qualified Science teacher with a degree in Biological Sciences (Neuroscience), I am passionate about helping students develop confidence and achieve success in Science. I entered teaching after a career in healthcare communications because I wanted to make a meaningful difference to young people's lives. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and adapting my teaching to suit each student's individual needs. Seeing students grow in confidence, overcome challenges and achieve their goals is what motivates me most as a teacher.

Hello! My name is Vee and I am a qualified secondary school Science teacher with a BSc in Biological Sciences (Neuroscience), a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
I currently teach GCSE Science and have experience teaching students across a wide range of abilities, from those who need support to secure a pass grade to those aiming for the highest GCSE grades. I teach both AQA and Edexcel specifications and have experience with Combined and Triple Science at Foundation and Higher Tier.
As a teacher, I understand that every student learns differently. My training and professional development have equipped me with a range of evidence-based teaching approaches, allowing me to adapt lessons to suit each individual learner. Whether a student lacks confidence, struggles to retain information or needs to refine their exam technique, I tailor sessions to their specific needs.
My tutoring focuses on three key areas:
Building strong subject knowledge by identifying and addressing misconceptions and knowledge gaps.
Improving long-term retention through retrieval practice and effective revision strategies.
Developing exam technique by teaching students how to approach questions, apply their knowledge and maximise marks.
Unlike many tutors, I teach GCSE Science every day in the classroom. This means I have a deep understanding of the common challenges students face, the misconceptions that often prevent progress and the skills examiners are looking for.
My aim is not only to improve grades but also to build confidence and independence so that students feel capable and successful in Science.
