About Angela
I graduated from Stellenbosch University with a Bachelors in Education, Foundation Phase (grades R-3) in 2018 and following that completed my Master in Special and Inclusive Education degree in 2019. Throughout my studies, I have had over 5 years of tutoring experience working with children from ages 4-13 in assisting the with schoolwork, preparing for exams, explaining content, as well as reinforcing important mathematics and language (reading, comprehension, letter and sound recognition) skills. I also gain experience working as a homeschooling teacher in 2020.

I have been well trained during my teaching degree in applying a Problem Based teaching approach which positions me as the scaffolder and facilitator for the child's own individual learning experience. As a tutor I work closely with the learner to patiently guide and encourage them to feel capable in their abilities to understand language and mathematical concepts in a way that works best for them. I adapt my lesson plans according to the needs of the learner ensuring that the learning process is fun, engaging and appropriately challenging whilst remaining within their ability level to build confidence in their skills and achievements.
I specialise in teaching Grades R-3 in fundamental reading, writing, phonemic and comprehension skills. My Masters degree also taught me how adapt many of my current teaching skills to work with learners with learning, behavioural and physical difficulties within that field.

Details
For learners located more than 10km, a petrol cover of R30 will be added to the overall rate.
(i.e.: 1hr - R250 or 2hrs - R470).
I ask that if a lesson is cancelled or moved that a minimum of 2 hours notice is received. One of the perks of private tutoring is the flexibility at which lessons can be arranged, I am happy to adjust the time slots week to week to accommodate towards varying schedules.
