About Helena
I have a BA in French and Linguistics from York with a specialisation in phonetics (accents, etc), and have worked for some of the UK's top language schools. I am CertTESOL qualified and have experience teaching adults, young learners, and children. My lessons are dynamic, interactive, and tailored to your specific needs as I believe every learner is different!

Hello! I'm Helena, I'm a Master's student in Intercultural Communication, originally from Manchester but based in Cambridge.
I've been tutoring privately for one year (French/English) but have been teaching English professionally for 4 years, both in the UK and abroad. I have a degree in Linguistics and am CertTESOL qualified. I have previously been praised on my rapport-building with students and my ability to engage with a diverse range of teaching methods.
I used task-based learning which is an ESOL methodology where you learn through tasks rather than grammar drilling or other repetitions. For example, learning modals (could, would, etc) through organising a party where you would use polite requests. I emphasise interaction and talking and my lessons maximise student talking time to get the most practice possible
