About Kirsten
I am a qualified English teacher, with a Graduate Diploma of Education attained from Murdoch University in 2018. My undergrad is a BA in Creative Writing and Performance Studies, attained in 2016 from Curtin University. Since graduating I have covered regular relief at Shenton College ( Shenton Park). My background is in performance writing (plays for the stage) and I have a passion for reading and creative writing. I love working with young people and have worked across people based industries my whole life.

My teaching style is Constructivist and I believe active learning can only take place when students are discussing and exchanging as they work through new content. I also believe active learning can only take place when students are HAPPY. Students need to have positive associations with learning spaces as well as their mentors so they have motivation to succeed. Passion is the key to engagement - I aim to have students leave our time together as excited about the subject as I am!
