About Emma

Looking for a friendly, qualified English teacher who makes learning enjoyable and builds real confidence?

I'm a native British English teacher with a Cambridge CELTA qualification (Above Standard Pass) and a Level 5 TEFL qualification. I teach both children and adults, helping students become confident, natural English speakers in a supportive and enjoyable learning environment.

Over the past few years, I've worked with learners from Hong Kong, Taiwan and across Europe, including Italy, Spain and France. Teaching students from different countries and backgrounds has shown me that no two learners are the same, which is why every lesson I teach is personalised to suit your goals, learning style and pace.

I have a real passion for helping children develop a strong foundation in English. My lessons are engaging, encouraging and designed to build confidence step by step. I also support primary-aged children using trusted UK learning resources, including the CGP book series, selecting materials that match their age, school year and ability so they can make steady progress while enjoying the learning process.

For adults, my focus is on helping you communicate naturally and confidently in everyday situations. Whether you want to improve your conversational English, pronunciation or overall fluency, I'll help you feel more comfortable using English in real life—not just during lessons.

Students often describe me as patient, approachable and encouraging. I believe that learning should feel positive, mistakes should be welcomed as part of the journey, and every student should leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they arrived.

Whether you're an adult looking to improve your spoken English or a parent searching for an engaging, qualified teacher for your child, my lessons are personalised, practical and focused on building lasting confidence.

For children

I believe children learn best when lessons are interactive, encouraging and enjoyable. I create a relaxed environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and celebrating their progress.

Lessons may include:

Reading, writing, speaking and listening activities
Vocabulary and grammar taught in simple, engaging ways
Pronunciation and confidence-building exercises
Games and interactive activities where appropriate
Support with school English and SATs preparation if required
Carefully selected UK learning resources, including the trusted CGP book series, matched to your child's year group and ability

My aim is not only to improve English skills but also to help children develop confidence, curiosity and a genuine enjoyment of learning.

For adults

If you're an adult learner, lessons are completely tailored to your goals. Whether you want to speak more confidently, improve your pronunciation, expand your vocabulary or become more fluent in everyday conversations, we'll work together at a pace that suits you.

As a Cambridge CELTA-qualified teacher (Above Standard Pass) with a Level 5 TEFL qualification, I combine professional training with a warm, supportive teaching style. My goal is simple: to help every student leave each lesson feeling more confident, more capable and excited for the next one.
