About Shafiqah

Hello, I’m Shafiqah Shahril, a friendly and experienced tutor with a background in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and international school education. I specialise in English, Bahasa Melayu, and Upper Primary Mathematics, helping students grow in confidence, fluency, and academic skills.

For English and Bahasa Melayu, I support students in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through structured yet engaging lessons. I place strong emphasis on reading comprehension, vocabulary building, paragraph writing, and creative writing, encouraging students to express their ideas clearly and confidently in both speaking and writing.

I also teach Upper Primary Maths, with over two years of experience teaching Year 6 and one year teaching Year 5 in an international school. My Maths lessons focus on clear explanations, understanding concepts, and problem-solving, particularly in areas such as fractions, decimals, reasoning, and exam preparation.

I graduated with a CGPA of 3.5 and above, and I take pride in delivering well-structured lessons that include a short recap, guided practice, and independent work, with regular feedback to help students improve.

My teaching style is supportive and adaptable, and I aim to create a positive, relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and enjoying the learning process.

About the lesson

I offer personalised tutoring in English, Malay, and Upper Primary Mathematics, tailored to each student’s learning needs and goals.

Maths Lessons:
- Upper Primary focus (Year 5 & Year 6)
- Taught online and in person
- In-person Maths lessons available around Kuala Lumpur, TTDI, and Damansara
- Emphasis on understanding, reasoning, and exam readiness
- Clear explanations, step-by-step methods, and confidence-building practice

English & Malay Lessons:
- Online only
- Suitable for primary and secondary students
- Focus on reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and confidence
- Structured lessons using interactive and task-based learning approaches

All lessons are 60 minutes, carefully planned to maximise engagement, feedback, and progress. I work with students of varying abilities and ensure lessons are supportive, encouraging, and adapted to individual proficiency levels.
