About Amy
I am a primary school teacher in my third year of teaching. I love helping children reach their goals and am offering 1:1 support for those who would like and benefit from it. I have worked with children in all Key Stage 1 and 2 year groups and am very familiar with the end of year and end of Key Stage assessment criteria.

I understand the strain on children and their parents following the school closures earlier this year and appreciate the pressure to 'catch up'. Many children may feel a little lost or confused and would benefit from a little confidence boost provided by some extra tuition. This confidence enables children to excel in their learning and reach their targets.
My methodology includes speaking to parents and children about where they believe their knowledge gaps are and testing these in a fun and engaging way. I then fill those gaps using a holisitc approach. I include practical and useful questioning in a varied fluency - like children would experience in assessments. Mainly, I encourage children to understand the use in their learning and allow their learning to be exciting and fun!
I can support children in any and all areas of English - reading skills, spelling, punctuation and grammar and writing skills.
