About Patrick

I am an experienced class room teacher of Latin and Ancient History, and have tutored Latin privately. I can also offer Ancient Greek, as well as history (with a specialism in Ancient History). I have a 1st Class Honours Degree in Classics and an MA in Classics and Ancient History, and a PGCE in Classics and Latin from Cambridge University. My personal passions are in reading ancient historiography and poetry from Ancient Rome and Greece, particularly Livy, Tacitus and Herodotus.

About the lesson

Latin and Greek are just as relevant as ever! These subjects offer students a better grasp on their own language, many modern languages and the art of learning itself. Furthermore, learning about the past and the cultures contained within the language offers us so much insight into our own world. Learning should begin from where the student is interested, if you want some GCSE top up sessions then we can begin with more grammar focussed lessons, if you are simply starting out your journey into the Ancient World then we can begin with some simple language and culture, or if you are an adult learner who simply wants to know more about all things ancient, then reach out and we can discuss where to start!
