About (Atman) Okan

I have a CELTA qualification from Cambridge University. I have worked in language centres in Europe, summer camps in the UK, public schools in China, and a language school in Australia. I have been teaching English since 2012. Apart from my qualifications as a Teacher of English, I have a Master’s degree in Engineering and am studying Master of Teaching - Secondary at SCU.

About the lesson

I am trained by Cambridge University standards and hold a CELTA Certificate. I have taught English to thousands of students overseas and in Australia since 2012. I have classroom experience in public schools, language centres, and summer camps including Australia, China, and the UK. In our first lesson, I would assess your skills and understand your strengths and weaknesses. I’d also have a chat with you regarding your needs. Then I will prepare a lesson plan for you. After the first class, I’d ask you to book a package so that we can commit to the lessons and I can give you the best experience. I am experienced with IELTS ACADEMIC and PTE ACADEMIC. I can help you with these exams as well. For your reference, I achieved 8.0 from IELTS and 90 from PTE. The first lesson is for half price.

I attended drumming lessons and can confirm that he a is an amazing teacher and connects with his students while he makes the learning accessible event if you just start. He has a kind and friendly personality and is a calm person. His music truely "meets the heart" and is very special! I highly recommend his lessons!

Atman is a patient teacher especially for an enthusiastic beginner like me with little or no talent. The classes are fun and interesting and he explains the different concepts in an easy to understand format. I feel very comfortable during the lesson. Good value for money. He is a very talented percussionist who considers himself a lifelong student.

Atman is such a beautiful soul!! He is very passionate about what he does, you may notice his experience with darbuka with a fast look, he also plays different instruments very well.

I have bought his percussion online lessons which I find very well done and super useful.

He is always available to clarify your doubts!

My experience was really amazing with him. I wanted to learn Darbuka and as you know it’s very hard to find a good teacher for this instrument. His method is very easy to follow up. Going through step by step from simple to the more complex rhythmical structure. I’d strongly suggest him if you are interested in dive into Darbuka and the percussion world. Thanks for your effort Atman!
