About Anna
I love teaching because seeing someone succeed is rewarding in and of itself. I also love young people and care about the next generation’s ability to communicate effectively for themselves, question, challenge, analyse and deeply understand the world around them. The better children can read, challenge and communicate, the easier their life becomes. Moreover, as an experienced traveller and linguist myself, I understand the importance of learning English and its advantages as well as the difficulties students may face as I have understood in different contexts with students from a range of countries. I work with adults and children who wish to improve their English in a way that suits them, adapting lessons to cater for specific needs as well as preparing students for IELTS.

I am able to adapt lessons to you, however, first and foremost it is important to understand your core strengths and things you would like to work on to achieve your chosen target grade. I am personable and patient and use (low pressure) tests if students feel comfortable to find any gaps in knowledge which we can work on together, using scaffolding and gradually removing this until each writing skill becomes easy. I also like to check students thoroughly understand a topic through trained questioning and giving students a chance to try out their new skills first, instead of asking ‘is that clear?’ So that I know they really do grasp what they have been taught and can use this outside of lessons. I have an up to date knowledge of the secondary curriculum however I also encourage students to think critically and independently both outside of and during their exams. For English teaching as a foreign language, I am able to use similar approaches to check students’ conversational skills, as well as support with writing and listening skills in different areas, from business English to discussions about music. I have several TEFL approved texts and resources to support students in their English learning journey and have helped students from all over the world learn English through different topics for over eight years.

I’ve known Anna for a while now, and I can honestly say she’s one of the best teachers I’ve come across. We met through a shared interest in language and education, and over time, she’s helped me so much with proofreading my academic work and explaining things in a way that’s easy to understand. Her ability to break down complex ideas is amazing, and it’s one of the reasons I think she’s such a fantastic teacher.
She’s not just super smart—she’s kind, patient, and approachable, making her an ideal tutor for anyone learning English as a foreign language or preparing for any exam. Whether you’re getting ready for the IELTS or need help with writing at a high academic level, she’s got you covered. She can adapt to her students’ needs while creating a comfortable environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and enjoy the learning process.
One thing that really makes Anna special is her personality. She’s bubbly, warm, and easy to talk to—learning with her never feels intimidating. She’s also worked a lot with kids, so she knows how to keep things fun and engaging, which is a huge plus. You can feel her enthusiasm for teaching, which makes her lessons enjoyable and motivating.
She’s especially great when it comes to preparing students for IELTS or helping with academic writing. She can talk about a wide range of topics to help improve your conversational skills, and when it comes to writing, her feedback is always clear and super helpful. She’s smart, patient, and just a joy to be around. Whether you need help with exams or writing or just want to improve your English, she’s someone who will go above and beyond to make sure you reach your goals. I’ve learned so much from her and know her future students will, too!I worked with Anna as colleagues in a secondary school English department and witnessed her talent for teaching every day. Anna does everything with a smile and is passionate about enabling her learners to develop their skill set. She has a sound track record of improving student grades in both the secondary and EAL setting.
Anna is a fantastic teacher; I worked with her for several years and she had the highest percentage of students meeting their target grade and above in our department ! She built up brilliant rapport with students who had different abilities and needs in their learning and was well loved by staff and students alike . She has extensive experience with students learning English as a foreign language both for GCSE/ A level learners and also those preparing for IELTS where she has taught adults and children alike. Would recommend to anyone trying to improve their English.
Anna helped my 12 year old brother, she was very patient and passionate. He enjoyed her lessons and she had a very creative ways of keeping him engaged.
