About Kevin
I am an inspiring mathematician with experience teaching both pure and applied (statistics and mechanics) mathematics (including further maths). I come from a family of mathematicians, of which my grandparents were top maths teachers in a secondary school in East Asia teaching the equivalent of GCSE and A-level mathematics- my grandfather had 20 years experience as an examiner, of which 15 years as principal examiner writing test papers.
I enjoy problem solving, science, sports and music. I am very knowledgeable in all areas of science, including medicine.
I also hold a degree in chemistry and DipABRSM in piano performance.
In my spare time I enjoy playing the piano both at concerts, for my church choir. I am also a semi-professional badminton player. I also play table tennis, tennis and football.

I am secondary school mathematics teacher with 2 years classroom experience and 3 years tutoring experience. I tutor students from year 4 and above, i.e., 11+ maths, KS2, KS3, GCSE Mathematics (and OCR FSMQ Additional/Level 2 Further Maths) and A-level Mathematics and A-level Further Mathematics. I can also tutor students who are taking the individual GCSE and A-level Statistics qualification(s).
Lessons will be 1 hour long and I prepare lessons based on the needs of students. My approach to teaching varied between each key stage. I tend to use a student-led approach and guided manner with scaffolding. I believe that as a tutor guiding students and allowing students to spot their mistakes and addressing misconceptions alongside practice makes a successful mathematician.
