About John

I'm a teacher and a tutor who never tires of working with people to gain self-belief. I love the subjects I work in and always will! I've had extensive experience in most aspects of education including a period in special education, where I learnt a huge amount about learning, and has put me in a stronger position to understand the educational needs of all students.

About the lesson

I work with the student as well as teach the subject. I tailor what happens to suit the needs of each student. I believe in a relaxed, but structured approach and helping the student to gain confidence and self-belief.

Perfect! Just a big thank you to John for everything he's sone for our son, Sam.
We had John for Maths and Science for GCSE, and at that time he was maybe 3's and 4's and struggling with his teachers at school, lacked confidence, and was starting to drop away and get a little downhearted.
John came in, with his very personable demeanour, applied some simple repetitive measures, never over-complicated things, and my son ended up with a 5 / 5 for science, which at the start seemed improbable, and a 5 for maths, which was all above what was needed for his college course.
I can highly recommend John, who was worth every penny, during which was a stressful last 6 months of GCSE's, which ultimately paid off.

John has been an exceptional tutor for our son Felix. Even in the short period of time we have known him, he has shown a calming and welcoming presence.
John's teaching style is dynamic and engaging, ensuring that Felix remained motivated and interested in the subjects they have worked on.
