About Wajeeha

Hello! I’m Wajeeha, you can also call me Jia. I have always loved teaching and helping others learn something new. At the same time, I’m also passionate about being a student of life, which means I try to learn one new thing every day. For example, today I learned about the Patagotitan, one of the largest known dinosaurs to ever roam our amazing planet. I have been teaching since I was a teenager, working with Kindergarten and Nursery classes to develop their basic learning skills. Then I started working as a part-time mentor and Peer Tutor at my university, where I helped dozens of fellow students grow their reading comprehension and writing skills. After that, I became a guest lecturer and workshop instructor, working with people of all ages to further enhance their research, writing, reading, statistical, and reasoning skills. I love working with students who are curious and open to new concepts. As someone who needs to take her time when faced with a new subject, I would never rush or pressure a student into zipping through a subject without understanding the fundamentals. I hope you consider me to be your next teacher because I know we will have a wonderful time working through problems together.

About the lesson

I’m very responsive and adaptive towards different learning styles, understanding that every student is unique and requires a different approach. I prefer to start with getting an idea about the student’s existing understanding of the subject, as well as their preferred learning tools. As I’m very familiar with the GCSE and GCE curriculum, I expect to be able to provide thorough lesson plans and cover the subject(s) in an engaging, memorable manner. While each lesson plan is customised for the student by subject, my methods include creative use of storytelling, supplementary materials such as open and closed book quizzes, dialogue writing, hypotheticals, end-of-session summaries, and more. I utilise a fusion of modern, interactive techniques and time-tested, established, informed methods that have proven helpful to students of all ages.
