About Jayden

Hello! My name is Jayden, I'm 23 years old and am a Psychology graduate and qualified Psychology teacher within the Further Education sector. I have been teaching the subject for two years after falling in love with the content I learned during my A-Levels between 2018-2020.

When I started studying for my A-Levels, teaching was something that had never occurred to me as an interest for a career. I entered college wanting to go into Computer Science, but after a week, felt that this was no longer for me. But all was not lost, as I was loving the subject of Psychology, which always provided an intriguing explanation for regular (and irregular) behaviours and processes that we may experience. My teacher became a very important role model and inspiration after making her sessions as interactive and engaging as can be. I took this subject forward to undergraduate degree level, spending three years at the University of Portsmouth and acquired a First Class Honours classification after a lot of hard work and intense research into the fields of Positive and Educational Psychology. I was able to take this knowledge and research forward into my PGCE in 2023, which I effectively implemented into my lesson plans and teaching practice to ensure that my students received the best opportunities possible.

My main principle is that students should not only enjoy the classes that they take but also strive to succeed to the best of their abilities. I devote considerable time and effort to helping students reach their full potential in learning. No matter how long it takes, or how hard we both have to work, I will always ensure you receive the best quality of tutoring I can provide you. We will conquer the obstacles in your way and make sure that your grades are boosted as a result. I look forward to working with you! :)

About the lesson

My aim is to push students towards the very best of their potential. Lessons will be structured to go alongside the learning of the student, allowing a chance to further develop and excel their knowledge. Understanding of the subject will be tested regularly via quizzes and discussions, with constructive and critical feedback provided. Exam support and advice will also be given.

Students will receive two sessions a week that will last for approximately 1 hour (or one 2 hour session). Alongside this, I am offering out-of-hours support where requested as a free extra, to ensure any worries or queries can be assisted. All sessions will be formatted in a relaxed and stress-free online environment, creating a positive learning environment focused around you and your current programme of study. Please ensure that you are able to provide details about your current course progression, as this will help me tailor our sessions for your areas of development!

The lessons I provide will be aimed at individuals aged 16-19, studying A/AS-Level Psychology, under the AQA exam board. Students studying on other exam boards are welcome to contact me for tailored advice and support, as there are plenty of crossover units (e.g., Research Methods!).

Lesson structure varies between students, but will follow this format:
- Subject Knowledge Recap & Check-In (5-10 mins).
- Tailored lesson content & Knowledge Building (25 mins).
- Exam Practice (15 mins).
- Review and Reflect (10 mins).

Although my sessions operate 100% online, to ensure that your potential is reached and skills challenged, specialist resources will be made and tailored to support you. To ensure that our sessions flow productively, as a gesture of good will your first session will always be free. Sometimes things don't always match and this provides us an opportunity to see if my services are the best fit for you.

During our time together, you will also have free access to a plethora of general revision resources, practice exam questions, and other services that may support you on your journey. In addition to this, I am also offering free out-of-hours support where required: if you have any queries, questions, or need any (concealed information) advice, I will do my best to give you the support you need.
