About Kaeleigh

Throughout undergrad, and graduate school I wrote several research papers that received high marks. Therefore, I feel confident in my abilities to teach you to be a stronger writer. Although writing may seem daunting, the process can be broken down in a way that makes it easier to understand. My goal in tutoring is to help you feel confident in the work you turn in rather than stressing about the grade you'll receive. What I welcome: - Students eager to learn - Students with ideas of their own - Students struggling to put their words on paper. What I will NOT tolerate: - Students that are aggressive - Students unwilling to learn - Verbal abuse - Written abuse

About the lesson

I believe in teaching in an open forum manner where the student is communicative and involved in the process.

All tutoring sessions not pertaining to essay writing will begin with a 30 minute consultation to determine the needs of the student, and form an academic plan, and meeting schedule, to help them succeed.

I offer two styles of tutoring sessions for essay writing, asynchronous and synchronous.

Asynchronous: The essay will be submitted and within 24-48 hours I will return it with suggestions of improvement. The corrected essay can be submitted up to one additional time after my response. Additional submissions would require a new lesson. I would also be available for questions from the start of the lesson until the conclusion of the lesson.

Synchronous: The essay is submitted to allow me a chance to read it, then we meet in a 1-on-1 video conference. We will talk about your concerns, where you think you excelled, where you struggled, and discuss any other questions you have. Prior to the end of the initial session we will schedule an additional 1-on-1 call within 24-48 hours. I will then take a more in-depth look at the essay offline and make suggestions on improvement before returning it to you. We will meet again at the agreed upon time and go over the suggestions with explanation and discuss any questions/concerns you have. The corrected essay can be submitted up to one additional time after the second video conference. Additional submissions would require a new lesson.

Essay tutoring sessions are open to those writing in APA format or essays that do not require a specific format (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.). I welcome anyone that is willing to learn and can accept constructive criticism, relayed in an age appropriate manner. Although my skills are primarily developed in research papers, I can certainly assist in most forms of essays.
