About Kirstie

I completed my GCSE Maths a year earlier in year 10, after receiving an A, I went on to do Statistics. With over 10+ years of tutoring experience, I'm confident I can help you excel within a matter of weeks! It all started during Sixth Form where I used to act as a personal mentor to younger pupils from a range of backgrounds. This includes those with learning disabilities and those from complex backgrounds either due to health or home circumstances. I then began tutoring younger students aiming for top grade results and picked up clients over the years. It has been truly rewarding for me to see everyone succeed - so much that even though I have a career in Medical Research, I still continue to tutor! I've always been a natural at it. I understand that people learn at different paces, in unique ways and think differently. I focus on the way you think and channel your learning to suit you, abiding by your exam board's criteria.

About the lesson

It's important to review difficult topics together - especially those my student is currently studying at school. I do a lot of open book test papers to complement this to help the student interpret questions and gain confidence. I do set homework as this follows on from the lesson and gives the child a chance to solve issues on their own. Reviewing this is key as it truly shows where we need to focus on in our lessons.

My first lesson with you allows us to focus on what you want out of our sessions, what times will work best for us to construct a learning plan that you can get the most out of - this will be free of charge. From here, I charge £30.00 per hour for each webcam session which I will try to make as interactive as I can! I also provide packages for long term students. This will not only be more cost effective, but will allow us to structure your learning well - leaving time for topics you'd like to cover along the way from school. The most useful resources tend to be online, so I do recommend online tutoring as it is also easier to fit around a busy day after school.
