About Laura
I am a certified mathematics teacher for grades 4-12 and have 6 years of traditional public school teaching of all math courses from remedial middle school math through AP Calculus and AP Statistics. Additionally, I homeschooled my 4 daughters through elementary school, during which time I obtained training in dyslexia therapy. For the past 18 years, I have provided academic tutoring and support for students of various needs locally in my home, on university campuses, and online.

In each lesson, I assess immediate and overall needs of the student. We begin with instruction/practice of urgent content (what will be assess this week). Once current learning is stabilized, we work simultaneously to address past deficits and I also begin teaching a little ahead so that classroom instruction is the 2nd presentation of new content. Collectively, this method provides quick relief.
Locally, I am known for supporting students and parents in unique and difficult circumstances of all types including Olympians, professional musicians and athletes, homeschool/living abroad, alternative school/in-discipline, students with ACT scores in the teens to those with scores in the 30s. At this point in my career, I am selective in my clientele, looking for where I can do the most good and for families who will appreciate my efforts.
