About Israel
I wanted to become a “good” teacher, not just another teacher that knew another foreign language. As time went by, my interest to learn more about methodology, authors, and processes to make me more efficient, gradually took me further into a more in-depth study of didactic, the processes and phases of teaching and learning, and respecting those processes as the key to effectively learning something new.
I learned the importance of memorization; the roles certain repetitive activities play as an aid for knowledge to become second nature, especially the gap of time and space that should be left between concepts so that students have adequate time to digest and adopt each new concept. Ultimately creating their own array of concepts that may give birth to ideas of their own.
As a teacher, my goal has always been for my students to truly learn. Even though my discipline is in linguistics, I have always structured my lectures as mathematical equations, where each factor has its own value ad function in contributing to a sum.
