About Elena

More than fifteen years of experience teaching Spanish. I am a High School Teacher (Spanish and Literature) and also gave lessons in the Spanish Courses at the University. In London I prepared many students for their (I)GCSE, IB or A level exams; all of them obtained excellent results!! Back in Spain I teach online. I am dedicated to learn about my subject, since I am passionate about it. As I am a Philologist, I know the ins and outs of my native language, and having taught Spanish as a First Language for many years, I can give detailed and extensive or simple and accessible explanations to any student, be it child or older. I teach people of all ages, levels and with all kind of goals. Having been a high school teacher for many years, I know how to write a Programme and work on it, programming according to the interests of my students and their goals. In principle, the programming that I can design for you to achieve your aim is based on the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. I can also help you correct and understand texts, and if you are studying Spanish Literature on your own or for any academic purpose. If what you need is a conversation class, the price is somewhat lower, so let me know beforehand. Anyway, in my conversation classes I will correct you and give you the support you need (grammar, vocabulary, explanations...). Group classes also have a different and cheaper price for each student. Again, in case of group or couple class, let me know before booking your class. If you need it, I can give you the explanations in English. My level of English is medium-high. In the case of lessons for children, it is essential that the father, mother or guardian of the child is involved in the classes, because on some occasion the student will have to prepare some material for the next session (such as printing a document that I previously had sent) or have something prepared so as not to spend time improvising (for example, I may need the student to have cut out some cardboard cards, or have an empty bottle on hand for some activity ...). Why do I think you should choose me as your teacher? In language teaching, there is a lot of intrusion, and many people are dedicating themselves to teach their language simply because they speak it (sometimes they don't even bother to speak and write correctly at all times) or because they have done a couple of courses in this regard. My knowledge of Spanish is deep, my interests are focused on Spanish and its literature, practically every day I try to learn about my language, which I love. Of course I don't know everything, that's the beauty of learning: there is always a way ahead. In my day to day, in matters of Spanish, I strive for excellence. My strong points? Exam preparation and Spanish for children (bilingual in Spanish or not). Schedule classes for each student. Spanish lessons designed for you!! (Please be aware that the Spanish that I can teach you is standard. If you are interested in listening to a certain accent or a Spanish from Latin America, you should know that I am not the person who can help you, because although all Spanish-speaking people understand each other, there are specific uses, as those from Latin American countries, that I do not know).
