About Ella

I am a creative and compassionate teacher with the experience and expertise to back it up. As a published author in academic and creative contexts, I am familiar with writing conventions and styles. As an elementary and high school teacher, I am comfortable working with a variety of unique learners with different learning styles. As a university writing tutor, I am able to support you in crafting a well-organized and well-researched essay as well as providing you with the skills to work independently on your assignments/projects in the future. I take a less rigid and structured approach to ensure that you feel comfortable and supported in your learning, wherever you may be at! Looking forward to working with you.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is open-minded, flexible, and oriented around your specific goals and learning style. My lessons are adapted across ages and goals, whether it be middle school paragraph writing to university-level essay support. Whether it's continued lessons or a one-time lesson, a typical lesson plan looks like this:

-A low-stakes assessment to find out where you are at
-A discussion around your current strengths and stretches
-A deep dive into your current assignment with examples, strategies, and approaches that you can apply on your own
-A review of the lesson's competencies with resources and guides to help you with your independent work
