About Maddy
Originally from Sofia, Bulgaria, I began studying the violin at the age of four. I hold a BMus (Hons), MMus, and an MA in Philosophy.
I am a dedicated and energetic violinist and violin teacher with over ten years of experience working with students ranging from complete beginners to advanced (Grade 8+) level.
My teaching combines structure and creativity, helping students develop strong technical foundations alongside confidence, musicality, and a deep enjoyment of playing. Many of my pupils stay with me for years — some for as long as nine! — , regularly achieving Merit or Distinction in their ABRSM exams.
I currently teach at the North London Conservatoire, where I also integrate elements of the Kodály method into lessons with my youngest pupils, and I also offer tailored private tuition to both children and adults.
As a performer, I’ve worked with major orchestras including the National Philharmonic, National Radio, and Classic FM Orchestra (Bulgaria), and have had the privilege of performing under some of the world’s most celebrated musicians, including Shlomo Mintz, Pinchas Zukerman, Joshua Bell, Nigel Kennedy — experiences that have deeply shaped my musical outlook. Since moving to London, I’ve performed with prestigious ensembles including Hastings Philharmonic, and Phaedra Ensemble, with appearances across Europe and Asia.

I offer a supportive, musically rich environment to help my students develop strong technical foundations alongside musicality, conviction, and a genuine love for the instrument.
I have a deep knowledge of both solo and pedagogical repertoire, I often draw on a wide range of material beyond the standard exam syllabi to keep things fresh, inspiring, and tailored to each student’s interests and needs.
Whether we’re preparing for ABRSM exams, school concerts, or simply playing for pleasure, I aim to nurture well-rounded musicianship. This includes developing aural awareness, sight-reading skills, and music theory — all of which support more expressive playing and greater musical understanding in the long run.
Above all, I believe that learning the violin should be both structured and joyful. I bring both analysis and emotional engagement into my teaching, so students feel inspired to explore and grow.

I've had the privilege of knowing Ms Georgieva for about 6 monts and to observe her work weekly. She is an intelligent, personable young woman and I've chosen her because of her solid academic background in music and child friendly approach. She's immediately won my daughter's admiration and trust and has definitely been able to inspire in her even a greater desire to learn to play the violin and also to sing and write notes.
Madlena is a gifted Violin teacher and we are very fortunate to have a music teacher of her caliber to teach my twin boys. She us absolutely passionate about music. Her love for the art is evident in her enthusiastic and energetic teaching techniques. My two sons have taken music lessons from Madlena for the past 13 months. They have been learning how to play the violin, rhythm, singing songs and reading music in a child friendly manner.
My children, aged 5 and 3 years old, started taking violin lesson with Madlena 1 year ago. She is a professional, dedicated, energetic, enthusiastic and committed teacher. She is good at adjusting to children's level of knowledge, challenging them and encouraging them! She is very passionate about music. She is a teacher of high standard even with little ones. She makes the lesson very productive and enjoyable for my children.
I started to learn to play the violin 9months ago, aged 55. Madlena is an outstanding teacher who sets out to develop a passion for music and the violin by teaching her pupil from the start to play by heart a number of simple tunes before studying them in detail-a motivating approach that encourages the rapid progress achieved.Precision is all, right from the start-the exact position of the hands and fingers, the accurate handling of the bow,the relaxed stance-these are her credos, and I love them.
