About Tessa
I am an enthusiastic violin tutor with over 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance, specializing in Baroque Violin. I focus on teaching young children in a way that feels natural and engaging. Building a strong musical ear early is my priority.
I teach through listening, imitation, and playful discovery. Storytelling transforms lessons into exciting musical adventures. Rhythm games help children feel timing without effort. Movement connects physical awareness with musical understanding.
I introduce simple melodies to encourage playing by ear. Technique is gently woven into each activity. I draw inspiration from Suzuki and Kodály approaches.
Lessons are tailored to each child’s learning style. I create a positive and encouraging space. Curiosity is always welcomed. Progress is celebrated at every step.
I aim to make violin learning fun, imaginative, and full of joy while developing confident young musicians.

My teaching approach is based on building strong technique and musical expression in violin playing. I support students with clear guidance and patience. Vibrato is a key focus in my teaching.
I break vibrato into simple steps that are easy to follow. Students learn how to control speed and width without tension. This creates a natural and balanced sound. I encourage slow and careful practice.
As students grow, we apply vibrato to musical phrasing. I show how it can change the feeling of a piece. This helps students play with more emotion. Listening skills are developed along the way.
I work with students to build confidence and expression. I help them feel comfortable sharing their musical voice. Creativity is always supported.
I give consistent feedback so students can improve steadily. Lessons are positive and encouraging. I focus on long-term growth.
My goal is to help students develop a natural vibrato and expressive playing style.
