About Syed Arham
I am a double undergraduate college student with a strong academic foundation in electrical and industrial engineering, supported by years of mathematics competition experience that has strengthened my analytical and problem-solving skills. Having completed my O/A Levels with a focus on academic excellence, I bring both depth of knowledge and clarity of explanation to every tutoring session.
Beyond academics, I have participated in over a dozen Model United Nations conferences as both a debater and a dias member, helping me develop exceptional communication, leadership, and diplomacy skills. I have also delivered lectures and conducted technical workshops for IEEE, where I taught students complex engineering concepts in simple, engaging ways.
These experiences have shaped me into a well-rounded, patient, and supportive tutor. My goal is to help students gain confidence, understand challenging material, and achieve their highest academic potential.

As a tutor, I focus on building a strong foundation in mathematical concepts while adapting my teaching style to each student’s learning pace and goals. My approach emphasizes problem-solving, intuitive understanding, and real-world application—especially useful for students preparing for standardized tests like the SAT or participating in competitions. A typical lesson starts with a quick review of previously covered material, followed by a focused session on a new topic, reinforced with carefully selected practice problems. I encourage active learning by asking questions that guide students toward discovering solutions themselves. For advanced students, I introduce competition-style problems to build deeper insight and strategic thinking. What sets me apart is my combined academic background in computer science and electrical engineering, my 97th percentile SAT math score, and experience in international math competitions. This allows me to explain concepts from multiple perspectives—analytical, visual, and practical—making even complex topics more accessible. My lessons are ideal for middle school to early college students, including those in high school honors courses, SAT/ACT prep, and students interested in STEM competitions or university entrance exams. Whether you're struggling with algebra or aiming to win a math Olympiad, I tailor sessions to your level and goals. I’m passionate about helping students not only improve their grades but also develop confidence and a genuine interest in math.

Details
I keep my rates intentionally affordable to ensure that high-quality academic support is accessible to all students.
In-Person Tutoring: $10 per hour: This rate is designed to support students who prefer face-to-face learning while still keeping sessions budget-friendly. My goal is to make engineering, mathematics, and academic success achievable for everyone—without financial pressure.
Online Tutoring: $8 per hour: Online sessions are offered at a lower rate because they reduce travel time and allow for more scheduling flexibility. This makes consistent tutoring easier for students who need regular support or who prefer studying from home.
First 30 Minutes Free: I provide a free half-hour first session so students can; Understand my teaching style,Share their goals and challenges,Ask questions before committing,Feel comfortable and confident. This no-risk introduction ensures that students only continue if the tutoring truly meets their needs.
Why My Rates Are Structured This Way
I intentionally keep my rates affordable because I believe that high-quality education should never be out of reach. As someone who comes from a humble, middle-class background, I understand firsthand what it feels like to search for opportunities, manage tight budgets, and find ways to fund my own educational expenses. I have worked hard to support myself academically, and I want to make that journey easier for other students who may be facing similar challenges.
My pricing reflects this philosophy. By offering $10 per hour for in-person sessions, $8 per hour for online sessions, and a free first 30-minute meeting, I aim to provide a learning environment that is both effective and financially accessible. Education has opened doors for me, and I want to extend that same opportunity to students without adding financial stress.
I keep my pricing flexible not because my expertise is limited, but because I genuinely want students—especially those balancing personal, academic, and financial responsibilities—to have a reliable and affordable way to succeed. My goal is to support students in a way that respects their goals, their time, and their circumstances.
