About Arif
I’m a professional teacher with over a year of experience teaching students in secondary school and college, so I’m confident working with young people and adapting lessons to different abilities.
I’m currently rated 1700+ on Chess.com, with a puzzle rating of around 2200 and a best Puzzle Rush Survival score of 47. I also compete in FIDE-rated tournaments and am working towards establishing my official FIDE rating.
My strongest area is tactical understanding and calculation, but I also teach openings, positional play, endgames and game analysis. Lessons are structured, engaging and tailored to each student’s level and goals.
I also hold an Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service.

I teach beginner to intermediate players, with lessons tailored to each student’s strengths and weaknesses rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. A typical lesson can include tactical exercises, analysis of your games, opening preparation and targeted work on the areas that will make the biggest difference to your chess.
