About Mike
I’ve been working as a professional musician since the early 1980s with a few career detours but I’ve always returned to music. I currently work as a music instructor in North Carolina from my home studio as well as a recording engineer and producer. I’ve played in touring/recording bands as well being a session player as on multitudes of recording dates over the years. I continue to do record and perform. For the past 20 years I’ve taught many satisfied students on guitar, bass and drums. I like to think that I inspire creativity and enhance the enjoyment of playing and learning. I truly love teaching and it’s an extremely satisfying experience to help people achieve their musical goals.

I’ve been teaching full-time for 20 years and for the 20 previous years it was my side hustle as I was (and still am) a working musician. I teach in many styles and I am well-versed in music theory, composition, improvisation and creativity. Electric and acoustic, bass, mandolin and ukulele.
