About Saul

I am a native Spanish speaker, originally from Colombia, who have been in the UK for over 16 years.
While my background is Logistics and Supply Chain Management. I've always been passionate about helping the Britons, and other nationalities, to master their confidence on saying to people:Oh yes, I speak Spanish too!

For someone who made the UK his home country over 16 years ago, and who didn't speak much the English language back in the days, I can honestly relate on the struggles you can find when you want to go to the Bank, and open a Bank account, order food at a random restaurant, and even more, going out on a date, and not knowing how to hold a conversation with your date! Oops, awkward!

About the lesson

My biggest technique is: Patience.
While I understand Spanish may not be an easy subject for everyone, I also wear people's shoes, as I got English as a second language, and I'm still learning!
My technique is letting people talk, allowing them to make mistakes, while I make note of them, and at some point during the conversation, I engage more in the moment by letting them know where the mistakes were, and asking them to go back and try to repeat as I just said, until they master the pronunciation at that moment.
we then change subjects, and we then do the same exercise on and on.
by the end of the meeting, we review all the mistakes made during the meeting, and ask them to try to pronounce properly. Their homework: write and practice their mistakes at home, and we then briefly review on the next meeting.

While I do not have a qualification as such, I have been doing this exercise for over 2 years, and it's helped a lot to people, specially when they are on holiday, either in Spain, or Mexico.

Lessons are normally for people who have an intermediate- advance level of Spanish; but they need a tutor who helps them becoming more confident on their speaking, which is mostly the Achilles heel.
