About Sopalapilli
I am a dedicated Kuchipudi dancer, performer, and educator whose life has been deeply intertwined with this classical art form since childhood. My journey began at the young age of nine under the guidance of Sri Ravi Kuchipudi at Kandula Kuchipudi Natyalayam. What started as early training quickly evolved into a lifelong passion and professional calling, further enriched by over a year of intensive training as a core trainee at the academy, alongside numerous masterclasses and specialized workshops.
To ground my practical artistry in academic excellence, I successfully completed both my Certificate and Diploma courses in Kuchipudi dance from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. My contributions and dedication to the art form have been recognized through prestigious accolades, including being graded as a B-grade Artist by Doordarshan and being honored with the Balakala Ratna Award.
As a performer, the stage is where I connect most deeply with the rich storytelling tradition of Kuchipudi. I have had the privilege of presenting my art at some of the most sacred and prestigious cultural platforms across India, including:

As a Diploma holder, graded Doordarshan artist, and professional dancer with 15 years of experience, I believe theory is what transforms a performer into a true artist. In my online classes, I bring ancient texts like the *Abhinaya Darpana* to life, using live demonstrations and rich storytelling to connect every *Sloka* directly to live movement. Each session is highly structured—starting with a peaceful invocation, moving into a deep dive of *Mudras* (gestures) or *Talas* (rhythms), and finishing with active on-camera practice and a supportive Q&A.
I have tailored my professional expertise specifically for the screen, using clear camera views and digital notes to make learning seamless and engaging. My focus is on teaching the "why" behind the rules to elevate your on-stage expressions, replacing stressful exams with encouraging, positive check-ins. These classes welcome all levels: school children learn through fun, story-driven lessons; intermediate and college students get the exact academic guidance needed for diploma or certificate exams; and advanced adult learners can dive deep into the nuances of Abhinaya and choreography.
