About Lily
I’m a PGCE qualified teacher of French and Spanish, available to tutor at any level, with experience of working with a wide range of age groups and different abilities. I currently am working full-time in a renowned Secondary School in East London as a Spanish teacher, teaching KS3 & KS4. I therefore have full knowledge of how to best prepare students for the French & Spanish GCSE and have access to the most up to date and efficient teaching resources. I am also cert TESOL qualified, and teach English as a Foreign Language at any level. At the beginning of my teaching career, I taught in a secondary school in East London, as part of the Teach First Leadership Development programme. I have a lot of experience in teaching a diverse range of students, including those with SEN and EAL. I am able to assess students’ needs and adapt material accordingly. I have the ability to think of lots of different engaging ways to teach new material, and be really creative and imaginative in my teaching style. I graduated from Durham University in July 2013, having completed my degree in French and Spanish. I lived abroad for a year, and therefore have a range of experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language. I worked in a bilingual school in Lima, Peru, reinforcing students’ English across various parts of the curriculum. Prior to this, I taught English conversation and language skills to students at an Engineering University France, in order to prepare them for their upcoming English exams. This experience enabled me to consider the exam content, and plan accordingly to ensure they were as prepared as possible. Additionally I have given private English language classes to adults and students in Spain, with a lot of focus on oral communication. Any questions, please feel free to get in touch. Lily is a really brilliant tutor. She recently helped me brush up on some basic French skills and she was incredibly patient and understanding of my own learning style and preferences, preparing each lesson very thoroughly, and she clearly had a fantastic knowledge of the language (and culture) itself, making it interesting and informative. I would highly recommend Lily as a language tutor!
