About Austin
Currently studying bassoon performance at the Manhattan School of Music, music is my passion and my life. I perform and teach professionally in Manhattan on a regular basis and would love to share some of what I have learned with you!
I have had a wide range of professional experiences from playing bassoon in orchestra to saxophone in jazz combos. From writing my own music to premiering works of other living composers. From pieces written in highly specific and mannered styles to completely free improvisation.
On the bassoon, I study with former associate principal of the New York Philharmonic, Kim Laskowski, and have also worked with other prominent bassoonists includinf William Short (principal of the MET Opera Orchestra) and Nanci Belmont (Professor of bassoon at Louisiana State University).

Lessons are tailored to what you want to learn, be that performance on a specific instrument, learning how to write your own music, or working on abilities like ear training and music theory.
Whether you want to learn classical music, jazz, pop songs, or whether you want to be able to read music or just play things by ear, we will work towards whatever your goals and desires are!
This is all about getting closer to the music and finding ways for you to connect with it and enjoy it how you want to.
