About Mickey

I’m a passionate educator, traveler, and lifelong learner living with my wife and two kids in a beautiful small surfing community in Nova Scotia, Canada. Together, my wife and I own and operate a forest school, where we combine our love for teaching and the outdoors to create meaningful learning experiences.

As educators by trade and at heart, we focus on teaching children and families essential survival skills, resilience, and a deep appreciation for nature. Our forest school is a space where kids can explore, grow, and learn outside the traditional classroom, fostering creativity, independence, and a connection to the natural world.

With over 15 years of experience as an English tutor and a global perspective shaped by living in China for over seven years, I bring a unique approach to teaching. My time abroad gave me a profound understanding of different cultures and languages, and my EMBA from Canada has equipped me with the skills to build even more engaging, structured lessons.

These experiences fuel my passion for empowering both children and adults to discover their strengths, embrace challenges, and learn with confidence. Whether it’s in the forest or in the classroom, teaching is at the heart of everything I do.
