About Patrick Benitez, PEng

I am a Professional Engineer with over 5 years successfully teaching mathematics to various students in both casual and formal settings. I am currently employed with two other private companies teaching mathematics as per the below: - Tutoring online/in Person from high school to University level. - Teaching online to Elementary classrooms. - Teaching Mathematics at Fanshawe College. My other teaching experience & qualifications are below: - Martial arts all ages - 12 years - Military Officer - 5 years - TEFL Certification

About the lesson

As a result of my experience teaching students from a range of different educational backgrounds and goals, I have developed excellent observational skills and have the ability to tailor my lessons specific to your needs, strengths, and learning styles.

Math is very much a building block type of subject in learning. Often people are frustrated thinking they'll never get something or that it's just not their strength; however, I have found it is often a piece(s) of the puzzle that was simply missing. Once those pieces are found, explained in the simplest manners, while practicing fundamental numeracy skills, everything starts to make sense and more difficult concepts begin to "click". Practice from here is key.

Through my collaborative approach and unique tutoring style for mathematics, I am confident in leading you to find new found skills and confidence that you can carry forward in all of your education endeavours.

Upon our discussions, lesson Breakdown may include:

George's curiosity and natural inclination to mathematics and number sense is to be cherished and nourished. Meanwhile, in a fun and engaging environment, I will continue some level of structure and routine to aid in his attention and classroom student skills.

Catherine is a solid student, who is a pleasure to work with, and I believe knows more than what she gives herself credit for. I will continue to develop her mathematics skills, allowing her to see her successes and improve confidence. Through sharing of personal stories and other unique methods, I will also instill the philosophy of learning that teaches it is not only okay to make mistakes, but often necessary in efforts of achievement. Trying enthusiastically, without fear or intimidation of "being wrong", will be one of our goals.
