About Unni
Testing may be "standardized". Students are not! Every student is an individual. Each student has specific skills and strengths. Each student grapples with her/his own particular challenges. A "standardized" approach to instruction does not work. For it does not address the differentiated needs of the individual. I endeavor to comprehend the strengths and weaknesses of each student and help them to realize their full potential to confront and overcome real-life problems in the years ahead.

I am a Professional Educator certified by the Connecticut State Department of Education to teach Elementary grades from Kindergarten through Sixth. I have 16 years’ experience as a school teacher and have taught English, Math, Science and Social Studies to students ranging in age from 6 to 12 in various grades. I have a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Master's Degree in Education. I adopt a building block approach to teaching by building upon the prior learning of the student to gradually build up and create a strong foundation. I believe that learning should be an exciting and challenging adventure, not merely a necessary chore. My effort is to enable my students to appreciate the invaluable importance of learning and help them develop essential skills. I endeavor to motivate them towards originality and creativity to prepare them to become capable of facing up to and solving real life problems in life ahead.
