About Charlotte

I am a professionally trained ballet dancer, teacher and movement instructor with a career rooted in classical ballet. I trained for 10 years at the Tanya Pearson Academy in Sydney, performing as a soloist with Sydney City Ballet and undertaking further training with The Royal Ballet School and Houston Ballet Academy. I continued my professional training at English National Ballet School, completing my Diploma in Dance Studies, before dancing with English National Ballet Company and achieving a BA (Hons) in Professional Practice in Dance, alongside teaching and freelance professional work.

I am also a Pilates, Sculpt and Barre instructor, drawing on my extensive ballet training to inform my approach to movement, technique and fitness. Alongside this, I have experience as a long-term nanny and nursery school teacher, as well as being CEO of an event entertainment and production company.

About the lesson

I have trained in RAD, Cecchetti and Vaganova so my teaching incorporates qualities from all styles or if specified by the student with focus on one technique. I have 7 years experience teaching ages from 18 months/ adult, Beginner- pre-professional. With my younger students i always incorporate music theory and story telling to keep engagement and usually keep my classes between 30-45 minutes. with beginner students i incorporate my years of dance based pilates and strength conditioning training to create a class focused around establishing strong secure foundations (postures, flexibility and strength) with classes between 30min-1 hour. With my advanced students i am happy to work through exercises, repertoire or choreography that has been previously learnt elsewhere or create class work that i to cater to the individual student and speak through technical corrections in immense detail usually requiring a session between 30 minutes and 1.5 hour depending on what we are hoping to achieve. I Also offer 1 on 1 pilates and fitness coaching.
