About Tea

Certified national and international chess trainer for 17 years. International Master (IM) and women grandmaster (WGM) with extensive experience of working with adult club players and young chess players of different ages and levels. 2 times world youth chess champion, vice champion of Europe, Dutch champion ladies, Participated in 10 Olympiads and 10 European team chess championships for Dutch national ladies’ team.

About the lesson

My teaching method consists of a combination of the worldwide translated and famous Dutch stepsmethod, and the methods developed and used by masters from strong Soviet chess schools. My approach for every student is individual. In the first sessions, I like to gauge exactly what my student's ambitions are. What is it YOU would like to achieve in chess. From there, we will devise a plan together to see exactly how you can achieve your goals. I mainly concentrate on finding the strengths and weaknesses of my students and improving them. My teaching methodology covers every aspect of chess, I'll provide my students with basic skills of chess like: calculation techniques, middlegame strategy and theoretical endgames, as well as opening preparation. My goal is to enrich my student's understanding of chess and their thinking process. I like to focus on aspects of the game which are harder for you to study by yourself and will be striving to help you learn how to work on chess by yourself.
