So, who am I?

I'm a master’s level political theorist and philosopher who recently graduated from the London School of Economics. I achieved first class honours at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and in the case of the former, I was awarded the Humanities Rotary Prize for attaining the highest grade in analytic philosophy in every consecutive academic year. My formal qualifications are: BA Philosophy (1.1) and MSc Philosophy and Public Policy (1.1).

I have been tutoring students for 3+ years, and in that time I've helped hundreds of students to make the grade. My students seek out my services for diverse reasons, but most typically they require tuition in political science and theory, analytic, continental, and historical philosophy, English literature and English as a second language, or logic and mathematics.

My teaching style is conversational and engaging, and my pedagogical philosophy encourages critical thinking. By deploying a problem-centred pedagogical style, I show my students how to turn intractable mysteries into soluble puzzles, and by solving these puzzles for themselves they develop the ability to approach problems with an analytical mindset. Typically, I arrange a free consultation with either the student or the student's parents/guardians. This allows me to assess the learner's current knowledge base, aptitudes, interests, and aims, which in turn enables me to craft the perfect learning programme.

I am familiar with the GCSE and A level requirements and curriculum content in England, Scotland, and Wales, and I have a deep understanding of university admissions exams and university level essay writing expectations. I can advise parents on the differences between Granada Learning’s 11+ exams and the Center for Evaluation and Monitoring 11+ (the two common 11+ entrance exams in the UK). I have also tutored past students in preparation for taking the demanding ISEB (an exam type used by schools like Dulwich College and Eton) and a number of more specific entrance exams.

Proofreading services for essays, dissertations, and admissions applications are also something that can be arranged. My standard rate is £20/ph for tuition, but proofreading and editing is quoted on the basis of the project in question. Get in touch for a free consultation.
