About Louis

Hello! My name is Louis Gilder, and I am passionate about helping students excel in mathematics. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Computing, both from Cardiff University. With a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and a background in software engineering, I bring a unique perspective to teaching.

My approach to tutoring is student centred, focusing on the individual needs and learning styles of each student. I believe in making math both accessible and enjoyable through clear explanations, interactive lessons, and real-world applications. Whether you're struggling with basic concepts or preparing for advanced exams, I am here to support and guide you on your mathematical journey.

I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals and build confidence in your mathematical abilities.

About the lesson

Teaching techniques
-Tailor lessons to meet the individual needs of each student, focusing on their strengths and weaknesses.
-Encourage students to engage with the material through problem-solving, discussions, and interactive activities.
-Break down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps, using visual aids and real-life examples.
-Conduct frequent quizzes and assessments to track progress and identify areas needing further review.

Typical Length of a Lesson
- Standard Duration is 1 hour but this can vary depending on the students needs.

My Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor
- First Class BSc Mathematics degree from Cardiff University winning multiple awards: IMA Prize for second highest overall performing student and the University Undergraduate Scholarship for highest performing second year student.
- Master's degree in Computing, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Online tutoring with MyTutor.
- Provided private A level maths tutoring.
- I frequently taught my fellow students during my undergraduate.

- Primarily for middle school, high school, and early college students (ages 12-18). I can do University level tutoring as well if needed.
