About Advitha
I’m a 3rd Year Medical Student at the University of Exeter with over three years of tutoring experience and a strong academic record, including a Dean’s Commendation (top 10%) and the highest SSC score in my year. I also achieved 44 points in the IB Diploma (top 1.1% worldwide).
I have delivered over 450 hours of private tutoring across a range of subjects, including secondary school and medical school entrance exams and GCSE subjects—primarily through online one-to-one sessions. This is separate from my informal teaching at medical school. I hold Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), a recognition of my teaching practice following five structured Neuroanatomy sessions I designed and delivered for medical students.
I’ve taught learners from school level to university level, helping students with entrance exams, GCSEs/IGCSEs, and advanced medical topics. I tutor:
- Secondary Entrance Exam Prep
- GCSE/IGCSE Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
-Medical School Preparation (UCAT, Interviews, Personal Statements)
- General Study Skills and Exam Support
I tailor every session to each student’s needs, focusing on building confidence, effective technique, and measurable progress. I truly believe every student can thrive with the right guidance.

My approach to science tutoring is built around strengthening understanding, improving recall, and developing strong exam technique across all three subjects. Each science requires slightly different strategies, so I tailor sessions accordingly while reinforcing the core skills that apply to all exam boards.
Biology – content-heavy learning made manageable:
Biology often involves large amounts of content, so I focus on helping students learn, remember, and apply information effectively. We use active recall, spaced repetition, flow diagrams, and exam-style application questions to ensure the knowledge sticks and can be used confidently in unfamiliar contexts.
Chemistry – practice-led mastery of methods and calculations:
Chemistry success comes from understanding methods and then practising them repeatedly. We work through plenty of topic-specific practice questions, breaking down calculations (moles, titrations, energetics, etc.) into simple, repeatable steps. I help students recognise patterns, avoid common exam traps, and build confidence with multi-step problems.
Physics – simplifying tricky, often under-taught concepts:
Physics can feel abstract if not taught clearly. I specialise in breaking down difficult concepts—forces, electricity, energy, waves—into intuitive explanations supported by diagrams, real-life examples, and structured methods for solving numerical questions. Students learn not just how to answer a question, but why the method works.
Across all three sciences, we focus on:
- Strengthening core understanding before moving to higher-demand questions
- Using topic-specific questions and past papers to build exam familiarity
- Learning to interpret command words (“explain,” “evaluate,” “compare,” etc.)
- Building confidence with practical-based and data-handling questions
- Improving clarity and precision in extended responses
Lesson Format:
- An initial diagnostic task to identify strengths and weaknesses
- 60-minute lessons (flexible depending on age and focus)
- Combination of teaching, guided practice, and past-paper application
- Regular review assessments to track progress and target weaker areas
Who I Teach:
- GCSE/IGCSE Biology, Chemistry, and Physics students
- Learners needing help with content confidence, exam technique, or grade improvement
If your child needs support with understanding concepts, mastering calculations, strengthening recall, or improving exam performance across the sciences, I’d be happy to help. Let me know your availability, and we can get started!

Advitha is great at explaining each detail of the topic clearly and specifically. She responds really quickly when in need of help and can detail your tuition plan according to what you need. Overall she’s an excellent tutor who will analyse you on the whole and point out where you can improve!
Advitha has been a fantastic tutor for my daughter. Her calm and encouraging approach has really helped build confidence and make learning enjoyable. It’s clear that she puts thought into each session, and my daughter always comes away feeling more assured and motivated. We’re really grateful for the support she’s provided.
Advitha has been helping me doing UCAT revisions for a couple of weeks and she is really good at explaining all the answers and questions, hence I was able to improve a lot by doing lessons with her. Moreover she has a very friendly approach to the lessons which helps me feel more comfortable during the lessons. Finally she has been very helpful by being flexible with the lessons with me. I highly recommend Advitha as an UCAT tutor
She is really good. Very professional and my son loves her way of teaching. Highly recommend her
Advitha supported my daughter through her GCSE’s and we were very grateful! Communication was great arranging sessions and she was very reliable. My daughter enjoyed the sessions and felt comfortable to raise if she didn’t understand something. She found the sessions very helpful and teachers commented on progress too! Thank you x
