About Amy
I am a primary school teacher, have been based in Year 3 but have experience across the curriculum, including working towards SATs or 11+. I also have experience tutoring for English and maths GCSEs.

I believe that children need to find their own meaning behind something for it to be important to them, the learning will not help them find their full potential unless they find a love for it. I want to lead children to make their own discoveries, to find their motivation, to take ownership of their learning.
To make this happen a lesson needs to start with a hook, something to spike their interest, whether it be flipping marshmallows with a ruler to investigate Newtons laws in science or racing a time tables test, it needs to make them curious. Following this I would use questions to gage their previous understanding of a topic and provide input on the area of learning as necessary.
