About Charlotte

My name is Charlotte and I am a Primary teacher currently living in Bath. I have had a love of teaching and learning from a young age and after completing a degree Primary Education B Ed at the University of St Mark and St John, I became a classroom teacher.

After completing my degree, I got stuck into teaching and I have worked in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and have an in-depth knowledge about the statutory requirements for these. I have now been teaching in class for 6 years. Despite loving classroom life (I am still in class 3 days a week) I am looking to use the skills and knowledge I have gained to assist pupils on a 1 to 1 level. I have been asked by many of the parents in my classes before if I would consider tutoring their child outside of the classroom but at that point in my career I was interested in growing my practice inside the classroom. I now believe I am at a point with which I can use my knowledge, expertise and experience to assist pupils on a 1 to 1 level whilst also still giving 100% to the job that I love.

I am enthusiastic, positive and always aim to make learning a fun and memorable experience. My practice is founded on the idea of ‘growth mindset-set’ the idea that all children can achieve whatever they set their mind to with the right tools and practice. I am genuinely invested in all of my pupils outcomes and take great pride in helping pupils succeed.

About the lesson

I am a passionate and experienced teacher who believes that every child is able to meet their learning goals. Through tailored, 30 minute sessions, I believe I am able to break any area of learning down to bitesize chunks. Building upon prior knowledge consistently and revisiting knowledge regularly I believe I can help your child move learning into their long term memory. As well as curating the skills necessary to bring this success into the classroom.

Whether it be SATs prep, Phonics and early reading or simply an area of development I have experience across the full Primary Curriculum and assessment and have worked with hundreds of children helping them to meet their learning goals. I want to make fun and engaging sessions for your child and believe this to be key to filling any gaps in their learning.
