About Abbie
Since taking my GCSE's I have worked in a tutoring room teaching and helping children with their learning of Maths and English. This was for children of the ages between 3 and 16. The children then went on to take their relevant qualifications in SAT's and GCSE's. I was able to adapt my teaching strategies for children of all abilities of learning.
I have gained my A-Level qualification in Maths and am now studying it as a specialism in Year 2 of my University degree. I chose this as my specialism because Maths is a great passion of mine and I want to encourage children to enjoy it and not see it as an enormous hurdle.
During my first year at University, I was given the opportunity to work with intervention groups in Maths, working with children that found the subject challenging. Through this, I found it greatly rewarding and satisfying seeing the children succeed.

Hi, my name is Abbie, I am a 20-year-old student studying Primary Education at the University of Winchester.
My approach to teaching focuses on how each student learns best and I will adapt the lesson to ensure it relates to their previous knowledge, levels of confidence and the goal of the lesson, in order to ensure the student further succeeds with their Maths learning.
I will base the lesson on a particular aspect of Maths that the student would like to focus on, including explanations of the topic, practice questions, and physical resources to make Maths enjoyable and accessible to everyone!
