About Li-Zhen
I am a lawyer by day and a private tutor by night. I am a second-generation immigrant, so I grew up in a non-English speaking family at home. I didn’t have the privilege of a 1-to-1 tutor until I started casual work in high school. Furthermore, I knew teachers don’t bite but I was afraid to ask questions in primary school without embarrassing myself or feeling dumb.
While I didn’t have a tutor, my parents provided the best resources I could self-teach new skills to improve my English. I understand the fear in asking questions in class and the frustration in understanding questions without a clue in mind. With this in mind, I want to work with you to build your understanding and confidence in English in a safe learning environment.

As a practical learner, I understand the need for examples, demonstrations and pointers to grasp a new term or concept. Everyone learns differently.
