My teaching approach is based on where the student currently stands with what they understand, what they struggle with, and how they learn best. From there, I break down complex ideas into manageable parts and I use various aids to explain difficult concepts. I emphasize understanding concepts over memorizing them. I also use the "teach back" method, which is where I encourage the student to explain the concept back to me in their own words to fill gaps in understanding and reinforce retention.
A typical lesson plan includes a quick check in, going over recent material and any questions they might have, and then a deep dive where we learn a new topic followed by active practice with my help and a wrap up where we set goals for the next session and overview what we learned.
My tutoring is ideal for high school and college students in general chemistry and algebra-based courses and geometry.
