About Elizabeth

When I was attending community college in persual of my associates degree, I was recruited by the college's tutoring program to help other classmates. I graduated from community college with a 4.0 GPA, and with an associates of science degree in general studies (concentration in science). I have since worked at that commmunity college as a tutor for 3 years, and have helped students to realize that they are not alone in their academic journey. When I tutor a student, I consider it a privelege to be able to give them the help I wish was available to me.

About the lesson

I like to tutor my students in a friendly and non-intimidating manner by relating to their hardships and encouraging them. My style of teaching is to break down the material to be as easy as possible by using real-life metaphors and mechanisms to help them understand. I love using tips and tricks on how to study for the given material, including time and stress management. I feel as though I am set apart as a tutor because I have personally experienced the struggles and obstacles that can be endured as a student. My lessons are mainly geared towards college-level biology students who would like to go into a health-care career or are having trouble with their prerequisite courses before they continue their education in persual of a science-based job. Here are the courses I can assist with: Human Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2, introductory courses to biology, medical terminology, cellular biology, microbiology, biochemistry 1, english composition 1 and 2,american literature 1 and 2, remedial math courses, algebra, pre-calculus, and pre-calculus with trigonometry.
