About Ruby

I’m a second-year postgraduate law student and I also have a strong interest in health and fitness — I work as a Pilates instructor alongside my studies. It gives me a great balance between staying active and diving deep into my legal work. Right now I’m focused on developing my skills and experience in the legal field, and my plan is to begin my career as a solicitor. I’m really looking forward to finding a role where I can keep learning and grow into my specialty.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is centred on clarity, patience, and breaking concepts down into manageable steps. I start by identifying where a student is struggling, then tailor my explanations and examples to their learning style. I use a mix of guided practice, active recall, and real-world examples to help students understand the material rather than just memorise it. I also prioritise creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking their time with difficult topics.

A typical lesson runs for 60 minutes, which allows enough time to revise previous work, introduce new content, and practise skills without overwhelming the student.

In terms of experience, I’ve tutored children and teenagers across a range of subjects, and I’ve also drawn on my own background as someone who benefited from tutoring while I was younger. This helps me approach teaching with empathy and adaptability.

My lessons are suitable for primary and high school students who need help building confidence, improving understanding, or strengthening their academic skills.
