About Kane

I am Kane, a postgrad in Contemporary Music Business, Production and Songwriting. I have worked as both a tutor and within the music scene for the past 7 years and love to base my world around all things music and creativity.

I really believe in a student led approach to learning with the gentle guidance and pushes needed to create and then achieve whatever goals are in the student's mind. I do believe in directness and realism when necessary and will be clear about the commitment to practice and focus necessary to achieve these goals as I believe it is not helpful to be told you can easily achieve rockstardom within days. If my approach/the student's commitment is not working I will always bring this to the student. I think that discussions like this are important in both working out what I can do to better support learning, but also in deciding whether a different teacher/approach may be better suited. I am not interested in taking people's money without being able to offer a benefit to their lives through music, so the first 50min consultation will always be free if you choose not to pursue lessons with me.

If you do though, I am excited to start working with you. Whether you are just getting started or you're looking to refine and diversify your existing skills, I would be honoured to join you on your musical journey.

About the lesson

I am Kane, a postgrad in contemporary music business, songwriting and production offering lessons in guitar, music theory, Production (Logic Pro X primarily) and general songwriting. Any skill level is welcome whether you have no experience whatsoever and want to develop a new creative outlet, or you're just looking to freshen up and push your skills a little bit further. The first lesson will always be free as of course I believe it is necessary for a student to be allowed the space to decide based on experience whether or not I am the right tutor for them. I am a strong believer in a personalised learning approach and will always try my best to adapt my teaching based on what works for an individual student, and I'm a big believer in the feeling of accomplishment which comes with creating and overcoming little goals and challenges.
