About Lorrie
Do you find yourself struggling to visualize complex organic chemistry mechanisms during your post-bacc studies? I teach because I want to bridge the gap between abstract theory and the concrete reality of MCAT requirements. My work draws on 5 years of experience tutoring students as an MD/PhD candidate at the Perelman School of Medicine.
I specialize in NMR spectroscopy, SN1 and SN2 reactions, alcohols and ethers, radical reactions, isomerism, carbonyl chemistry, retrosynthesis, and elimination reactions. Connecting these dense topics to medical application makes the material stick. I enjoy breaking down how these mechanisms build the foundation for complex molecular biology. It is genuinely fun to see students transform their understanding of organic chemistry into a logical, manageable framework.

Will you be ready to handle the toughest AAMC questions with 10 proficiency? Achieving high fluency starts with recognizing exactly which reaction patterns the examiners prioritize most.
My lessons incorporate my 5 years of tutoring experience to ensure you gain technical command over every mechanism. We examine the specific skills required for organic chemistry mastery, ranging from retrosynthesis to elimination reactions.
Precision matters when every second counts on your entrance exam. I evaluate your current process to determine how to optimize your study time for maximum efficiency.
Understanding the underlying logic of carbonyl chemistry helps you bypass rote memorization. My approach emphasizes building a robust, consistent methodology that translates into clarity during high-pressure testing scenarios. You will find that navigating these complex topics becomes much more intuitive as we refine your analytical approach to every question type.
